Sincere Hearts

Good morning! Thank you for joining me in reading through Hebrews chapter 10. Enjoy with confident hope that our redeemer lives.

Bible Verse – Hebrews 10:19-25

“19 And so, dear brothers and sisters,[f] we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 By his death,[g] Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. 21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, 22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

Reflection

The beauty about these verses is that they remind us that we can now go right into the presence of God and submit our prayers, talk to God, worship God, and trust God. That for our guilty consciences has been sprinkled with the blood of Jesus to make us clean.

These verses also provide reassurance for those who believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, arose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. Because of Christ our sins are forgiven and we are free to enter into heaven, we only need to ask him into our hearts.

The book of Romans states, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NLT

Today, will you take some time to sit and pray or worship in the presence of God. Find a space at home, on a walk, on your lunch break, etc., but make way for God to meet with you today.

Prayer

Father God, we thank you for another beautiful morning where we can see and reflect on your goodness. Lord, you have been so good to us. Lord, equip us with your wisdom and grace today. Lord, help us to behave in a way that represents you, your love, your compassion, and the way you would have us treat our neighbors. Lord, help us to refrain from anything that is not pleasing to you today. Lord, protect us all as we go into this Election Day. Lord, remove anxiety, fear, and anger from our hearts. Lord, you did not give us a spirit of fear or timidity or anger – therefore, help us to suit up in the armor of God so that when the weapons against us come they will not prosper. Lord, settle your peace on us and around us as we continue to trust you with our day, our lives, and this election.

Lord, we pray for the mother with the unborn child whose spinal cord appears to be developing slow or abnormally. Lord, heal the baby and help the baby’s spinal cord grow to maturity and without complications or defect. Lord, we pray for the mother that was recently released from the hospital and we ask for you to continue to heal her from lupus and cancer. Lord, we pray for the children who are grieving the loss of their mother and/or dad. Comfort them and give them godly people to support and encourage them throughout their lives. Lord, we pray for the parents who have lost their child(ren) due to death and we ask for you to continue to comfort them and give them peace. Lord, may your peace overflow in our nation and around the world. Lord, may people know about the truth of the Bible, the coming of Jesus, and the hope we have because He lives. In Jesus name, amen!
