Good morning! Sometimes in life we have to grow up or grow in our knowledge. In Hebrews chapter 6 we will read on the call for believers mature in their understanding. Join us as we continue our reading. Have a wonderful day.

Bible Verse – Hebrews 6:1-3 NLT

“1 So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds[a] and placing our faith in God. 2 You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.”

Reflection 

These verses are a reminder that our age doesn’t determine our maturity in the faith, it is our relationship with God that develops our faith and then we begin to mature. The more time we spend in the word, meditating on it and applying it, the further we will grow in our maturity as Christians.

Sometimes even the mature need to revisit the basic scriptures as a reminder of God’s love toward us.  However, we must not stay stagnant in our growth.

How do you plan to mature in your understanding of the scriptures?

Prayer 

Father God, thank you for all that you have done for us. Lord, we ask for your forgiveness for our sins (known and unknown). Lord, we are grateful for the basics, yet we are also ready to mature in our faith and our understanding of your word. Lord, as continue to read through Hebrews let us read and understand your word and apply it to our lives. Lord, be with us as we draw near to you and seek you daily. Lord, make us hungry for your word. Allow your Holy Spirit to help us to discern the word, so that we will not become stagnant or stifled in our growth. Plant us at the right church, one that will challenge us to grow and equip us to share your word unapologetically. Keep us grounded as we trust you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
