Good morning! Today we will finish our reading in Hebrews chapter five. May the Lord bless your day.
Bible Verse – Hebrews 5:11-14 NLT
“11 There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. 12 You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word.[c] You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. 13 For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right.14 Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.”
Reflection
Sisters and brothers, it’s time for us to grow and mature in faith and in the word. Spend some time getting to know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for yourself. Where will you start today?
Prayer
Father God, we thank you for your word that is sharper than any two-edged sword. We thank you for giving us comfort and promises, but we are also grateful for the scriptures that course correct us, gives us guidance when we are far a way, and for allowing it to nudge us to change our character. Lord, we are thankful for the word calling us to grow in grace and allow for transformation. Lord, keep working in us.
Lord, we ask that you comfort the families who lost their loved one this week. Lord, bring comfort to the mom whose 17 year old son passed away. We pray for the family whose mom passed away. Lord, both families need you and many others. Lord, help the who were impacted by Hurricane Helene and be with those in Florida as they prepare for the next hurricane. Lord, we pray for the man who was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and we ask for him to be healed. Lord, we know this month is domestic violence awareness month. Lord, we continue our prayers for women who are being abused and ask that you get them the help they need to get out of there abusive situation. Lord, we pray for the survivors and ask that you help them to overcome their trauma. Lord, we pray for those who don’t want to leave and they are waiting for their abuser to change. Lord, we ask for you to change the hearts and minds of those abuser. Lord, you know why they have become or are abusive and we ask that you step into the situation and transform them to no longer be emotionally, physically, verbally, or mentally abusive. Lord, we pray for each person who is reading this today and we ask that you watch over them and their families. Help us all to draw near to you today and in the week ahead. In Jesus name, we pray, amen!
