Enter His Rest

Good morning! Today, we will finish our reading in Hebrews chapter 3. Enjoy your reading and have a good weekend.

Bible Verse – Hebrews 3: 16 NLT

16 And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt? 17 And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness? 18 And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him? 19 So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.”

Prayer

Father God, we thank you for the scripture readings this week. We thank you for the reminders to not rebel, not to turn away, not to be deceived. Father, we are grateful for the reminders that you sent your son Jesus to save us from an eternity in hell and for giving us an opportunity to believe and receive Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our lives. God, we thank you for the opportunity to accept Jesus and receive eternal life. The promises you gave still stand today, and we are thankful for the reminders of your love for us. Lord, as we end this week and move into the weekend, we ask that you continue to work in our hearts and transform us in ways that only you can. We ask that you refine our character and make us new every single day – being stretched and changed to look more like you – may we all enter into your rest. Lord, we pray for those recovering from surgery, those who are going through things that only you know. We ask that you give them peace and help them through recovery and anything else that they need help with. Lord, we ask for safe travels for those who are traveling this weekend. We pray for those who have been and will be impacted by the Hurricane. Lord, keep them safe and help them to quickly recover. In Jesus name, amen.
