Good morning! Today’s prayer will begin with a brief reminder of God’s faithfulness.
Matthew 6:25-34 NLT
“25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
Prayer
Father God we thank you for sending your son Jesus to save us. We thank you for giving us the freedom to choose Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We thank you for your word that teaches and instructs us on the way of life. Lord, continue to teach us your ways and direct our steps. Lead us and draw us closer to you each day.
Lord, as we read these verses today we are reminded of your care and love toward us. We are reminded of your comfort and ability to take care of every need we have. Lord, thank you for loving us more than the birds that fly and the flowers you make bloom in and out of season. Lord, we are grateful that we can leave our worries and doubts with you. Lord, this morning as we prepare for the day with our personal to-do list, help us to put you first. Help us to recognize the importance of seeking you first and consulting with you over our to-do list. Lord, whatever you have in store for us today help us to be wise and led by you. Remove our ego from the equation and give us insight on what is best for us. Lord, lead our conversation and reactions to things. Lord, suit us up in your armor so that we will be prepared and we’ll equipped for anything that may come our way. Shield and protect us from the scheme of the enemy and disrupt Satan and his follower’s plan against us.
Lord, restore hope to all believers today. Give them reminders of your love and faithfulness throughout the day. Encourage our faith. Help us to trust you more everyday of our lives. Help those who are grieving-comfort them. Help those who are going through cancer treatment and heal them. Help those experiencing nerve pain and undiagnosed pain, and give them relief. Continue to heal our hearts, minds, body, soul, and relationships (e.g., marriages, family, etc.) Lord, we pray for widows and children without a parent(s), Lord, keep them tucked in your arms and care for them in ways that only you can. Protect them and comfort them. Bring godly men and women into their lives to help them. In Jesus name, amen.
