Good morning! Today, I want to revisit a scripture in the Bible. Let us ponder on healing and faith as we read and pray about these verses.
Bible Verse – Mark 5:24-34 NLT
“24 Jesus went with him, and all the people followed, crowding around him. 25 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. 26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. 27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.
30 Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?”
31 His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’”
32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. 34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”
Reflection
If you could touch the hem of Jesus’ garment right now, what would you ask him to heal or expect to be healed?
Sisters and brothers, the Lord is with us – always, let us go in prayer and faith.
Prayer
Father God, we thank you for the reminder of the woman with the issue of blood. Lord, it appeared as though there was no hope, no chance, no other opportunity in the eyes of those with earthly knowledge, but Jesus something changed when she heard of you. Something changed when she had access to you, something changed when she reached out in faith. Lord, today we know about you, we’ve read about you, and You made sure we had access to you. Lord, thank you for saving us. Thank you for changing our lives and our out look on everything. Lord, when we forget how great you are – remind us. When we fall short of faith – remind us of how faithful you are.
Lord, today as we access you in prayer we ask for prayers to be answered. Many have been waiting for their marriages to be healed, others are waiting to be married, for their children to turn to you and/ot be healed, for their families to be restored and healed, for the sick to be healed, for the broken to be restored, for the lost to be found, and for sin to be removed from their heart. Lord, heal them, make them whole, restore them, and remove sin from our hearts and minds.
Lord, earlier I asked them if they could touch your garment what would they ask for or expect to be healed. Lord, you know exactly what their responses were. LORD, today they have reached out to you and by faith we are asking for your healing. Lord, heal each of us mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and financially. Lord, sustain us and help us to recognize how you are healing us every day. Lord, continue to draw us near to you. Continue to strengthen our faith and trust you in all circumstances. Lord, bless ys with understanding you, your responses, and your timing more each day.
Lord, help us to share with others how amazing, loving, and compassionate that you are. Lord, as we prepare for this day, heal our minds, help us to find peace in you, restore our hope and transform us to be more like you. In Jesus’ name, amen!
