Happy Tuesday! Have you ever heard the saying, ‘haters will hate’. No matter what you do, there will always be someone who feels, you could have done more or they could do it better. However, as you seek God, serve Him with a pure heart and with pure motives so that you will not be deterred by the opinions of others, but instead you will remain rooted in faith and in the security of the Lord. Remember, the qualities we read about last week – being pure in heart and meek. Have a wonderful day!
BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 5:10-12 NLT
“10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
REFLECTION
As we seek a relationship with the Lord, there will be moments when we will be persecuted for our beliefs. However, we must remember Jesus was despised and rejected -Isaiah 53:3-4. He wasn’t welcome in every town – Luke 4:24-30. And John 15:18-27 NIV, reads: 18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.”
Keep courage sisters and brothers, the Lord knows everything we do for the kingdom and to bring him glory. Continue to follow Him and His plans for your life. Share the gospel with others.
PRAYER
Father God, thank you for blessing us with your presence. Thank you for giving us a brand new start. Lord, your ways are beyond measure and your love radiates to the core. Lord, you are worthy of all praise and we thank you for reminding us of the value of holding you in our heart and keeping you first. Lord, continue to equip us with your word so that we can share it with others. Transform us and strengthen our faith when we are discouraged. Lord, we lift up all the missionaries professing your name, keep them safe. Lord, pour out your Spirit on them and move them in a mighty way. Lord, we pray for the church, pastors, leaders and teachers. Lord, give them wisdom and discernment to share your word. Lord, bless and touch our hands, hearts and minds to share your word wherever and whenever you send us. Lord, be with us today. Lord, give us favor and continue to pour out your blessing. Lord, change the hearts of our lost family members. Lord, help them to see you and give their lives to you. In Jesus name, amen.
