Happy Friday! Today we are stepping away from the book of Acts and will focus on one verse that I would like for us to reflect on today and throughout the weekend. On Monday we will begin our review of Acts chapter eighteen. Have a wonderful day and may the Lord bless your weekend with perfect peace.
Bible verse
““I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” – John 14:27 NLT
Reflection
The Lord gives perfect gifts. His gift to you is peace of mind and heart. Receive the gift, unwrap the gift, and allow the gift to work in you.
- Philippians 4:6-7 “6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
- Hebrews 2:14-15 “14 Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had[g] the power of death. 15 Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.”
Sisters and brothers, God has you. Accept the gift peace.
Prayer
Father God thank you for blessing us with your Son Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus, thank you for not leaving us as orphans and for sending the Holy Spirit to be with us and dwell within us. Thank you for giving us perfect peace, the peace we can only find in you. Lord, we are grateful for all that you have done and continue to do amongst us. Lord, thank you for never leaving us in despair. Thank you for the hope that we have in you. There is no greater love than the love you have for us. Lord, penetrate our hearts and remove anger, bitterness, deceit, fear, and evil thoughts. Pour into our hearts your love, hope, discernment, wisdom, joy, and endless peace. Lord, continue to do your mighty work within us. Lord, we pray for those who are suffering from symptomatic COVID-19 and ask that you heal their bodies. Lord, remove fevers, seize chills, clear lungs, and steady heart rates. Lord, we pray for our sisters and brothers who are waiting for a medical report or diagnosis and ask that you strengthen their faith and trust in you. Lord, you already know what the report will say, you already know what diagnosis will be given. Lord Jesus, but we know you. We know you are the great physician and that by your stripes we have been healed. So far, help our sisters and brothers to walk through these times that are unknown and unpredictable to us and let them overflow with peace, boldness of faith, and your spirit of truth to remind us all of how great you are. Lord, we give you all the praise and glory. Thank you for bringing us this far. We trust you. Use us for your glory. In Jesus name, amen.
