Happy Tuesday! Today we are focusing on gift number 5 of 9 that Paul mentioned in 1 Corinthians, chapter 12. Join me as we re-read verses 7-11, while focusing on verse 10a. Have a wonderful day.
“7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice[b]; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge.[c] 9 The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. 10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages,[d] while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. 11 It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.” 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 NLT
Sisters and brothers, Jesus performed many miracles. His ability to use His divine power to heal and raise people from the dead was miraculous to so many. He taught the disciples how to pray and ask God to heal people. Paul shares that some believers are given this gift.
The spiritual gifts assessment describes the gift of miracles as the “divine strength or ability to alter the natural outcomes of life in a supernatural way through prayer, faith, and divine direction. Acts 9:36-42, Acts 19:11-12, Acts 20:7-12, Romans 15:18-19, and 1 Corinthians 12:10 and 12:28.
Sisters and brothers, miracles still happen today. Are you wanting or waiting for a miracle? Keep praying! God is more than able. Listen to His voice, follow His direction.
Father God, thank you for another day and opportunity to serve you. Lord, the power to perform miracles seems difficult to comprehend, but you are the One who is in control of all things. Lord, when the doctors say no, you are the Great Physician that says yes. Lord, when the world says impossible, you are the One who makes all things possible. Lord, we trust you and desire to serve you with the spiritual gifts you give. Lord, continue to give and awaken those gifts within us. Lord, help us to be bold and brave, but also humble recognizing our gifts come from you. May our gifts bring you glory. Lord, strengthen our faith and keep us focused on you. In Jesus name, amen.
Keep praying! Keep Trusting! Keep believing!
