The Call Isn’t Easy

Good morning! “Every high priest is a man chosen to represent other people in their dealings with God. He presents their gifts to God and offers sacrifices for their sins. And he is able to deal gently with ignorant and wayward people because he himself is subject to the same weaknesses. That is why he must offer sacrifices for his own sins as well as theirs. And no one can become a high priest simply because he wants such an honor. He must be called by God for this work, just as Aaron was.” Hebrews 5:1-4 NLT.

In the text it shows, that even the priest had to offer a sacrifice for their own sin. So, while the work of a priest is an honor,  they are still people prone to sin.

Priest, Pastors, Elders and other leadership in the church need prayer just as much as the people sitting in the church. Remember to pray for them. Pray for the church, because we are part of the church body, and it is only through Christ that we can repent, turn away from our sins and be forgiven.

Lord thank you for the reminder that even though you have called certain people to lead the church we are all subject to weakness and sin. Lord thank you for calling leaders who are standing with other believers and praying with them. Thank you for the leaders who teach your truth, who strengthen your people and provide encouragement. Lord help us to continue to follow you as our high priest who is perfect and without sin. Direct our paths today. Comfort those who are hurting. Calm those who are angry. Give peace to those who are struggling with decisions. Shield us Lord from the attacks of the enemy and from fear. Help us to stand bold in your name and accomplish all you have planned for us today. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
