Happy Monday! “Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people. But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day.” 2 Peter 2:6-8 NLT

Just like Noah, Lot was saved and called righteous in these verses. While they were both in cities with people that lived by their own rules and driven by their own fleshy desires, God saw the righteousness of Noah and Lot; and he preserved their lives and their families.

Sisters and brothers don’t allow the chaos and confusion of this world to limit your ability to grow in the Lord and the word of God. It’s not easy to be criticized by your peers for making a decision to follow Christ. However, remember, we may be in the world, but we are not to be of this world. Continue to live in-Christ as you go throughout the day. Stand on his word. Pray before you drive on the road to work. Pray for your teachers, co-workers and your boss. Pray for the people you have a difficult time praying for – the Lord hears you.

Father God, thank you for another day. Another day to serve you and stand in prayer for others who need you today. Lord, we don’t know what awaits us, but we trust that you have everything under control. Lord help us to surrender our fears, finances, children, marriages, jobs, addiction and pain to you. Be with us Lord. Keep us in perfect peace as we strive to mirror you in all the things we do – trusting you. Be with those who are struggling in their faith – strengthen them, be with those who are grieving the loss of their love one and who are having a difficult time getting through the day. Also, be with those afflicted by painful memories – restore them and make them whole. In Jesus name, Amen!

Enjoy your day. Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
