Endures Forever and Ever

Good morning! May the Words in the book of Hebrews remind you of God’s grace.

Bible Verse – Hebrews 1:5-9 NLT

“5 For God never said to any angel what he said to Jesus: “You are my Son.
Today I have become your Father.[a]”
God also said,
“I will be his Father,
and he will be my Son.”[b]
6 And when he brought his supreme[c] Son into the world, God said,[d]
“Let all of God’s angels worship him.”[e]
7 Regarding the angels, he says,
“He sends his angels like the winds,
his servants like flames of fire.”[f]
8 But to the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever.  You rule with a scepter of justice.
9 You love justice and hate evil.
Therefore, O God, your God has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.””

Reflection
The author of Hebrews is making it clear Jesus is God’s supreme Son. Even God’s angels worship Jesus. There is no equality between Jesus and God’s angels. There is no one greater, His throne endures forever – that means there is no end to His rule on the throne.

Prayer

Thank you Lord for bringing your supreme Son into this world to save us. Your love for us is beyond our full understanding. Yet, Lord you show us through your word and action(s) your love and mercy toward us. Lord you have sent your angels to accomplish incredible task in the Old and New Testament. Lord continue to direct the angels and give them power to serve you. Lord shield us with your mighty hand from the plots of the enemies who try to create chaos and confusion, push hatred over love, and instill lies instead of the truth. Lord, supreme Son and ruler of Justice thank you for your mercy on us. Thank you for keeping us from following the lies of Satan and for changing us to be more like you. Lord, keep working in us. Continue to equip us for the task ahead. Reminds us to always recognize your power and place in comparison to anything or anyone else. Lord, help us to humbly seek you and stand in awe of your mercy and goodness in our lives. Lord, help us to see your goodness even when things aren’t good. Lord, we pray for the woman who had a stroke and we pray for her healing. We pray for the family with COVID and we ask that you restore their health. We pray for all the children who are heading to school and ask for you hand of protection over them and their teachers. Lord, we pray for the families impacted by the school shooting in Georgia and for the families of the four people who lost their lives. Lord, something has to change and we need Your help to make changes to keep our children safe around the world. Help us to step up wherever you want to use us. In Jesus name, amen.
