Live With Him Forever

Good morning! Have you ever been inside of a grocery store and tried to remember everything you needed to buy? Then after you got in line or sat in your car or returned home you remembered the one thing that you needed most, and you forgot to get it while you were inside the grocery store. Today, we will continue where we left off with Apostle Paul’s reminder to the Thessalonian believers.

Bible Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 NLT

For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. 10 Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. 11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

Reflection

Apostle Paul was pleased with the work and character of the Thessalonian believers, but he wanted them to be sure of who they were in Christ. He needed to remind them of their value. These words are true for you too and so fitting right now.

Sisters and brothers, if you don’t remember anything else today, remember these words from Apostle Paul.

• God chose to save you – through our Lord Jesus Christ

• No matter your past

• Christ died for you

• He loves you so much

• When Christ returns – you can live with him forever

• All those who believe and receive Christ as their Lord and Savior will be saved

These reminders in the bullet points should always be carried in your heart, you can put them on a grocery store list or a small index card, but don’t forget them.

Sisters and brothers, no matter how difficult the road ahead is or becomes, let us continue to rest in the confident hope that by God’s grace we were chosen to besaved, hand picked by the God – the Creator of the universe and everything in it. That Christ died for us so that we can be reconciled back to God – in relationship with God.

Keep maturing in your faith and in these words. Allow His saving grace and love for you to overflow in your character and words.

God chose you.

Trust His word.

He is the One thing we need most.

Enjoy your day!

Prayer

Father God, thank you for another glorious day. A day where your truth and love for us is brought to our attention. Lord, forgive us of our sins (known and unknown). Lord, when we are overwhelmed with emotion or simply unable to understand why things are the way they are, continue to remind us of who we are and how much you love us. Lord, help us to show compassion and love for those in and outside of our circles. Lord, help us to stand for the things you stand for, to love as you love, and have a relationship with God the Father. Lord, unite believers in your truth – not an us versus them, but as one in Christ. Lord, we need for you to heal our hearts and this land. Continue your work here and in us. In Jesus name, amen.
