“⁵ The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
⁶ The sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon at night.

⁷ The Lord keeps you from all harm
    and watches over your life.
⁸ The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.“

Prayer

Lord, thank you for watching over us this weekend. Thank you for protecting us from things we didn’t know we needed protection from. Lord, thank you for waking us up this morning and for giving us another opportunity to pray and speak with you.

Lord, this morning prepare our hearts and minds to ponder on you and your gracious ways. Lord, walk with us today and keep us from being lonely and help us to be an example of you wherever we go today. Lord, touch our tongues and our lips so that our words will be humble and truthful. Touch our hearts so that they will be filled with compassion and grace. Lord, help us to be kind.

Lord, we continue to ask for comfort and healing for those who are ill. Lord, continue to give us hope and your peace. Lord, bless each household and pour out your Holy Spirit into their homes, their families, their children and their spouses.

Lord be our strength and keep us from harm. In Jesus name! Amen.
