Good morning! This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. We are wrapping up the final verses of Psalm 34. May the Lord bless you today and this Mother’s day weekend.

“¹⁹ The righteous person faces many troubles,
    but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.
²⁰ For the Lord protects the bones of the righteous;  not one of them is broken!

²¹ Calamity will surely destroy the wicked,
    and those who hate the righteous will be punished.
²² But the Lord will redeem those who serve him.  No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

Quick note: Besides knowing the Lord is my salvation and hope, verse 19 is another go to and I always stand on it: “The righteous person faces many troubles,  but the  Lord  comes to the rescue each time.“

Prayer

Father God, thank you for rescuing us. You have rescued us from sin and from total self-destruction. You have led us in the midst of storms and you have comforted us in ways no one else could or can. You have equip us with ears to hear you and discernment to know your voice. You continue to bless us and make our paths right. There is no one greater than you. Lord, thank you for blessing us and leading us through difficult times. Lord, you never promised an easy life, but you are always with us, and you always rescue us. Lord, thank you for allowing us to worship you.

Lord, today is mother’s day in Mexico and Sunday is mother’s day in North America. Lord, we want take time to say thank you. Thank you, Jesus for giving us life through our mothers. Lord, thank you for knitting us in her womb. Lord, it is such a privilege to know that in your grace and mercy you found it best for us to be alive to celebrate the day You brought us into this world through our mothers. Lord, you know the depth of pain and the nine months (some a little less, others a week longer) our mothers spent caring us. Lord, thank you for deliverance and thank you for the mother you sent to deliver us into this world. Lord, bless each mother who is reading this prayer today. Bless each woman who has loved on other child or adult in a motherly way. Lord, bless those who want to be mothers- equip them. Lord, comfort those who are without their mother or grandmother this year. Lord, continue to comfort the heart of those whose children are now home with you. Lord, you know their need.

Lord, help the mother who is raising toddlers and infants. Give them rest and discernment. Lord, help the mother who is raising school age children. Help them to listen, understand, comfort, protect and lead, but most of all let them lean on you and pray over their children daily. Lord, help the mother who is now the advisor of adult children. Lord, help them to give wise spiritual counsel and support. Lord, help them and let their lives be examples of your faithfulness and love. Lord, at the end of the day may each mother arise and be called blessed.

Lord, as we move forward today we will take refuge in you because you are worthy. May Your peace and love overflow in us. In Jesus name, amen!
