May Prayer – Day 2

Good morning! It is the National Day of Prayer. Today, churches, organizations, leaders and individuals will stop to pray. Let’s pray.

Dear God!

Thank you for blessing us with another day to speak with you, to come to you on behalf of ourselves and others in prayer. Lord, we pray for:

  • the world – we ask for you to bring and end to the situation across the globe where thousands of people are dying in Ukraine, Africa, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Gaza, etc. Lord, protect the innocent people and their families. Lord, help them to secure food and relief from famine. Lord, help to comfort those who are grief stricken, orphaned or widowed due to the attacks. Heal those who have been injured. Protect and help those who have been displaced.
  • the nation – we ask for you to be with our leaders today. Lord, help them to make noble and ethical decisions. Lord, help them to look beyond politics and help them to see the people they would be impacting as they put laws into place, amend laws, or abolish certain laws. Lord, as we go through this election year help us to make decisions that align with you. Help us to review the ballots to understand what we are voting for and who we are voting for.
  • our families – we ask that you strengthen our faith and families. Lord, we ask for healing in families across the world. We ask that you continue to equip families to know and follow you. Lord, we pray for their financial, housing, spiritual, mental, physical and emotional needs. Lord, bring families back to you, to your truth, and help them to love and have compassion as you do.
  • our young adults and youth – Lord, we pray for their safety. Lord, protect them and keep them safe from harm. Be with them as the go to and from school, practice, and other events. Lord, be with those who have finals, exams or quizzes today and throughout the month. Lord, give them peace, remove the anxiety that they are feeling, help them to understand each question and answer it with the correct answer. Lord, give them the mental well-being that they need to pass their exams. Lord, help the professors and teachers to instruct them well. Lord, help those preparing for graduation to prepare for their next steps as they commit to colleges, universities, trade schools or go to work. Lord, keep them close to you. Don’t let them lose heart or passion for a relationship with you.
  • everyone – Lord, you know our names, you know our needs, you know what we struggle with, you are the One who can care for us the best. Lord, help us to keep our eyes focused on you. Heal those who are suffering from addiction. Release those who are in bondage. Set free those who are being trafficked or held against their will. Lord, be with those who desire to start their own business – bless it and may it be a blessing to others. Lord, be with those who are starting new jobs – direct their steps and lead them as they begin to learn new things and work with new people. Lord, comfort those who have lossed loved ones. Continue to heal those who are sick. Keep transforming us to be all that you have called us to be and do.

In Jesus name, we pray amen.
