Happy Thursday! Sisters and brothers, the past week and a half was filled with information on how our behavior or character in Christ should be. While it may be difficult at times, stay encouraged – Jesus loves you. He will give you wisdom and discernment to live as one who is in Christ. Enjoy today’s reading.
BIBLE VERSE – 1 Peter 2:21-25 NLT
“21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
22 He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.
23 He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.
24 He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.
25 Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.”
Reflection
There is no greater example of love than what Christ has shown and done for us.Let us be thankful for Christ, because when He carried our sins on the cross – forgiveness met them there.
A familiar song sung by Nicole Nordeman titled “Healed” has a few verses that remind me of Jesus Christ’s wounds that healed us:
“By Your death we live
It is by Your gift that we might give
That we might give
By Your wounds we are healed
(Tell me what kind of love is this…)
By Your wounds we are healed”

Sisters and brothers, we are not called to live in darkness or as captives to sin. Because of Christ Jesus and what He did at the cross, we have the option to be set free. We do not need to walk in sin or shame. If you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have been set free and forgiven.
Therefore, despite what comes our way, do not:
- forget the measure that we have been forgiven
- continue to do good
- trust God who always judges fairly
PRAYER
Father God, thank you for your son Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins. Lord, forgive us for sins we have committed (known and unknown). Lord, teach us your ways and help us to apply your word/truth to our lives daily. Lord, thank you for these verses and the redirection of our actions. Lord, continue to improve our character. Continue to lead us with your loving kindness. Lord, we desire to be more like you. Lord, continue to heal and change us. Restore us back into a healthy relationship with you. In Jesus name, amen.
