A Prayer for the 2nd Friday in 2024

Good morning! Let us pray.

Prayer

Father God we thank you for another day. We thank you for your grace that has brought us through each day this year. Your gracious heart and love for us is incomparable. Your peace overflows in us like a river and it always flows in every season. There is never a season of drought, your love never runs out. Your forgiveness is limitless and your healing is always available. You – Our mighty God, Our Creator, the One who sustains us and is the One who changes us – we love You and thank you for everything.

Lord, today is the second Friday of the year. We are grateful for this 12th day. It is another day that we can surrender our lives and our purpose to you. Lord, our desire is to follow you closer this year, to hear from you and be obedient to You. We desire to live our lives in alignment to your will. Lord, when we wake up we want to begin with a conversation with you – praying and connecting with you. When we lay down we want to end our day with a final conversation with you – praying and thanking you for another day. Lord, we want to get into the rhythm of seeking you first on everything we encounter and in each decision we make. Lord, let Your Holy Spirit guide our thoughts and actions throughout the days ahead. Lord, we want this year to be a significant year where our lives are different because we chose You first in every aspect – church, family, relationships, work, finances, extra curricular activities, and the things we do for others. Lord, equip us with Your armor so that we can stand against the schemes of the devil and His followers. Lord, help us with every piece of armor. Hold us close to You and continue to protect us and our families.

Lord, we pray for improvement of sight so that we can see things as you see them. Lord, touch those who are physically blind and those who are spiritually blind. Lord, help those who are seeking purpose, those who are paralyzed by fear, and those who rush into things without seeking you to hear from You and trust Your sovereign plan. Lord, continue to heal the sick. Lord, we ask for improved conversations in relationships, with our spouses, our children, family members, and others. May the words that come from our mouths be blessings and not curses. May our tongues speak truth in love and refrain from bitterness and death. Lord, may our armor be on tight so that when things come up against us, we are able to use every spiritual weapon to stand firm against Satan’s schemes and stand firm in faith when life is simply out of our control. Lord, may our lives and decisions be a reflection of your glory, grace and love over and in our lives today and throughout the holiday weekend.

Continue to protect and shield our children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and each person we know and don’t know from harm. Protect all the innocent children and place godly people around them who will encourage them and their faith. Lord, bless us with godly people who will walk with us and pray with us in times of trials and times of joy. Lord, be with leaders around the world and transform their hearts to be like Yours. Appointment more servant leaders into political offices. We don’t care if they are Democrats or Republicans – we want them to be men and women who are true followers of Christ, who will stand for what you stand for and will do what you would have them do. Lord, begin to sift out those who stand in opposition of what You stand for. Lord, sift out the things in our lives that do not bring you glory.Lord, begin shift the balance in Your favor. In Jesus name, amen!
