Good morning! There are so many times that we look at and judge with our eyes. Sometimes it’s food disguised as a meal. Other times it is a house disguised as a home. A person disguised as having our best interests at heart. Today, we will read a quick verse on what God looks at. Enjoy today’s prayer.
Bible Verse: 1 Samuel 16:7
“7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.””
Reflection
These verses were written after God decided to remove King Saul from his rule and replace him with King David – the same David who killed Goliath. David was a young boy when he was selected as king. It didn’t happen immediately and in fact it was far from being easy to walk into his role, but he became king.
Prayer
Dear God. Thank you for knowing us and for seeing us. Lord, thank you for blessing us and not cursing us. Thank you for going beyond the simple things and for blessing us beyond measure. Lord, thank you for being extraordinary and good to us. Lord, each day you made is unique and without a flaw. Every detail is created with your unique provision and purpose.
Lord, thank you for allowing us to see the 11th day into this year – thank you for your new mercies today. Lord, many of us went to bed with a worry or a disappointment on our mind or in our heart. Lord, for many it was a sleepless night, or an illness, or a loss that kept us up. Lord, today we ask that you take over those things today. Lord, we ask for favor as we walk through today. Lord, we need favor on the job, we need favor in the doctors office, we need favor with those medical results, we need favor with our classes and instructors, we need favor in our finances, we need favor in so many areas but most of all we need You. Lord, we don’t want to walk through this day without You, Your guidance, Your provision, Your wisdom, Your healing, Your peace, Your joy, Your strength, Your love, or Your grace.
Lord, You know every detail of our life. We may not become a King or Queen but we serve the King of kings. You know what things we will face that will build our character, our faith, and our alliance to You. Lord, just as David trusted You – we want to trust You with the plans for our lives. Lord, we want to turn to You whenever we are hurt or lost, when times are good or bad, when we have tears in our eyes or are laughter in our hearts. Lord, when you look at our heart we want you to be pleased. Keep changing us. Keep working in our hearts. We are Your servants – use us as you please. In Jesus name, amen.
