Good morning! God’s love is brought to full expression in us. Enjoy today’s reading and prayer.

Bible Verse – 1 John 4:11-16 NLT

“¹¹ Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. ¹² No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.

¹³ And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. ¹⁴ Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. ¹⁵ All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. ¹⁶ We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. “

Reflection

Some of the key verses we read that stand out are:

• if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us
• God’s Spirit is proof that we live in him and he in us
• we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world
• all who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God

Prayer

Father God, thank you for your word and these reminders of your love for us. Thank you for sending your son to be the Savior of the world. We believe and declare that Jesus is the Son of God. We are grateful that your spirit lives within us, which makes it easier for us to love as you love.

Lord, wherever we fall short of loving each other help us to recognize it and mold/transform us in those areas so that we will be aligned to Your word and Your truth. Lord, direct our actions and speech so that it resembles You living within us. Lord, help us not to be bothered by the lack of love we receive from others, but help us to love them anyway. Lord, continue to mend hearts that have been broken. Continue to stretch us in love each day and build our character. Help us to trust you more than our feelings about love.

Lord, whatever need our readers have – will you hear their prayers and answer them? Will you show them you hear them? Will you let them feel your presence today? Will you lead them and make their crooked paths straight? Will you be their refuge and strength? Will you be their comforter and comfort them? Will you be the Healer described in scripture and heal them of all their inequities? Lord, we believe Your word, and that the answer to these questions are yes and amen. So, Lord we will keep praying and trusting in Jesus name. Lord, be with each college student who is studying for finals and/or taking finals today. Lord, help them to recall the material they learned and studied so that they will pass their exams. Lord, give them favor in their assignments and on their exams. Continue to equip them with your spirit and remove the spirit of anxiety and stress from them. In Jesus name, Amen!
