Good morning! The past two days we read the word remain. It was repeated multiple times in 1 John chapter 2. The key is to remain in fellowship with Christ. Enjoy today’s devotion and prayer.
Bible Verse – 1 John 2:28-29 NLT
“28 And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.
29 Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children.“

Prayer
Father God, we thank you for your love and your word. We thank you for the ability to fellowship with Christ. We thank you for sending your Son Jesus the Christ to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Lord, forgive us when we fall short and do not always do what is right in your eyes. Forgive us of our sins (known and unknown), and help us to turn away from those sins that try to separate us from a relationship with you. Lord, we want to love in the fullness of Your grace, mercy, and love. We want to live a life that honors you and helps others to find refuge and forgiveness in you.
Lord, thank you for your hedge of protection, for your peace that extends beyond our struggles and pain. We thank you, because even when things are painful you remain consistent and faithful. Your word, your promises, your character and love toward us never changes. Your consistent peace and strength pours over and over, and we thank you for that.
Lord, there are so many things going on in the world, in our lives, and in places we frequent. Lord, we want to continue to feel your presence with us. Lead us today, let your Holy Spirit correct and guide us in our speech and actions. Let us live our lives as a testimony to you, your faithfulness, and how you have helped us overcome every battle, every trial, every sickness, every situation with employment, every financial hurdle, every heartache we have or will encounter. Lord, when you return or on the day we finally meet you face to face we want to be full of courage and not shrink back in shame. Today and always we choose to remain in fellowship with Christ. Help us to live it out. In Jesus name, amen.
