Good morning! I pray that the Lord will bless you today as we begin a new week in His word.

Bible Verse – 1 John 2:15-17 NLT

“¹⁵ Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. ¹⁶ For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. ¹⁷ And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.“

Reflection

• Do not love this world.
• Allow the the love of the Father to live in you.
• What are you craving?
• Will you all God to change your craving?

Prayer

Father God, we thank you for blessing us with another day. Thank you for watching over us throughout the night. We thank you for sending your son Jesus so that our sins could be forgiven. We thank you for a new opportunity to serve you and lead others to you.

Lord, you never cease to bring the lost from out of darkness. You bring your light into every situation, and without fail you shine Your light through us. You have given us wisdom, discernment and abilities to do things well. Lord, it is only You who has blessed us with jobs, some with retirement, others with the ability to work or stay home, and others with many more achievements. Those achievements could not be accomplished without you – so we give you all the glory and praise.

Lord, we desire to love you more than we love this world and what it has to offer. We want to crave spending time with you, living our lives for You, reading your truth, and living out our Christian lives in alignment to your truth.

Lord, we desire to do what pleases God all the days of our lives. So Lord, begin to change our hearts toward the things that distract us from God. Help us to see what is taking the place of our relationship with God and help us to realign our beliefs and principles to serve and please God – not for works, but because of love. Lord, help us to love and pray for others. Help us to see beyond our needs and direct us with ways that we can help with our time, abilities, finances, and prayer. Lord, keep our eyes steady/fixed on You. Help us to shine Your light wherever we go and no matter what we do.

In Jesus name, amen.
