Good morning! This week we will be covering a few scriptures on hope.
Bible Verse – Psalm 130:1-5 NLT
“1 From the depths of despair, O Lord,
I call for your help.
2 Hear my cry, O Lord.
Pay attention to my prayer.
3 Lord, if you kept a record of our sins,
who, O Lord, could ever survive?
4 But you offer forgiveness,
that we might learn to fear you.
5 I am counting on the Lord;
yes, I am counting on him.
I have put my hope in his word.
Prayer
Dear God. You are the sustainer of our lives. You give us strength to get through each day, each hour, and each moment. You never fail us. You comfort the lonely, the brokenhearted, those who mourn, and those in despair. Your word reminds us time and time again of your faithfulness and love. Thank you. Not only does your word remind us of your promises, it reminds of the hope that we have in you. The day in which all things are fulfilled from Genesis to Revelations and we are at home with you.
God, thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to save us from eternal separation from you. Lord, forgive us of our sins (known and unknown) and help us to turn away from them. Strengthen our faith so that we may understand the depths of your forgiveness and grow into maturity of our faith in you. Lord, where there is lack of understanding – Lord, give us your truth. Where there is lack of forgiveness – soften our hearts to trust you to work in us to remove any callousness from it so that we may be aligned with you. Lord, if we lack compassion – help us to glean from you and your word so that we may live by your example. Lord, where others may try to manipulate your word for their benefit – give us wisdom and discernment to recognize the enemies tactics and help us to rise above it.
Lord, you are great. You are the One we desire to follow all of our days. Lord, don’t let us lose hope in you. Help us to stay steadfast to your word and healing grace.
Lord, we pray for those who are struggling with unspoken prayer requests. We ask that you minister to their hearts and meet them right where they are in life and in their hearts. Give them steady peace of mind. Lord, we ask that you silence the tongue of those who are bitter and where their bitterness attempts to spoil the hearts and minds of others. Lord, armor us up so that those spoils don’t erode on us or come from us.
Lord, we pray for physical healing for those who are not well. Lord, continue to work in them, help them to wait patiently on you, and turn their pain into praise.
Lord, we continue to pray for those struggling with finances, emotionally instability, and spiritual maturity. Lord, continue your work within them, teach them, and bring other Christians along side them to mentor and encourage them in the faith.
In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
