A Gift

Good morning! Today’s scripture reminder is sometimes lost when we experience trials. May the keep this verse imprinted on our hearts.

Bible Verse: John 14:27 NLT

27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. “

Prayer

Lord, thank you for the gift, which is peace of mind and heart. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that lives within us and comforts us. Lord, your peace is perfect.

Lord, sometimes we make attempts to keep peace on the job, in our homes, with our families, and within our relationships but Lord our efforts do not compare to the free gift of peace that you give.

Lord, as we pray to you we find peace in our mind and heart because we know you and believe your word. Lord, we understand life will happen and we know from time to time it will seem unbearable, but you – Lord, have reassured us in Your word that you are in control. Nothing surprises you. Lord, we ask for you to give us Your peace on our jobs, in our work assignments, in our homes, with our families, and within our relationships. Lord, we can’t do this alone, we need you.

Lord, thank you for your provisions and for giving us peace of mind and heart.

Your word is true – no one can give this gift like you. There may be attempts or knocks offs, but it’s not long lasting like your gift. Lord, forgive us for the times we attempted to find peace of heart and mind through other things. Lord, forgive us for setting aside the free gift that you gave us. Lord, help us to protect that gift and allow us to focus in on your peace. Fill our hearts and minds today. Cover us with endless peace as we go through out our day and for the duration of time that we have here.

Lord, we pray for authentic Christians to be in more leadership roles in this world. Those who will walk in love and use Your discernment and wisdom to lead well. Lord, we need the types of Christians who love you first and live out the truth of Your word, and who do not merely follow what the world has distorted. Lord, your ways are true, filled with love, justice, compassion, and shaped with discipline. Lord, help us each day to become more like you.

Lord, we lift up the world events and we pray for those who have been adversely impacted by the war, earthquakes, human trafficking, abuse, and poverty. Lord, bring an end to the war, send aid to those who are in need, and provide for those who have no food and/or no shelter. Lord, be with the mothers who are grieving and/or praying for their loved ones. Lord, you hear their prayers – Lord, we wait patiently for you to answer, and we are thankful that your peace gives us peace of mind and heart while we wait.

In Jesus’ name, amen!
