Good morning! Thank you for joining us as we continue our Draw Closer prayer series.
Prayer focus: My Help
One of my favorite Psalm is 121.
“1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Dear God.
Lord, as the writer of this Psalm wrote, we also pray for your help and reassurance that whatever valley(s) we walk through that you are with us. Lord, thank you for always looking out for us. Lord, thank you for reminding us that you are still God even though other gods and people are worshipped around us. Lord, thank you for being the Great I Am that created all things and is in all things. Mostly, thank you for creating us.
Every day we want to live a simple and uncomplicated life. Lord, we know that that is not always the case or the life we have been given, but we know You. We know no matter how complicated or disappointing life can be that we can trust you to make things less complex and better in time.
Lord, we need your help. Lord, we need your peace. Lord, we need your strength. Lord, we need your wisdom and discernment today. Lord, you know what we are battling today. Lord, give us favor in the battle. Help us to be obedient to your guidance and victorious situation(s).
Lord, we pray for those who are struggling with depression and/or mental illness. Lord, remove the spirit of depression and free their minds of self doubt, suffering, negative feelings, and awaken their minds with the fullness of Your Holy Spirit reigning within them, healing them, clearing their minds, and resetting their thoughts and actions to look to you.
Lord, there are so many people who need your help today. Lord, help our reader with ____.
Lord, give them peace with _____. Lord, they are struggling with ______. He’ll them to overcome the challenge of _____ and the fear of _______.
Lord, keep working in us, watching over us now and forever more. In Jesus name, amen!
