Good morning! Thank you for joining us as we continue our Draw Closer prayer series.

Prayer Focus: Striving and Seeking
“For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10 NASB

Dear God.
Today your mercies are new. You have been so gracious the days before, and we are so grateful for that. Lord, forgive our sins (known and unknown), and forgive us for behaviors that have not aligned to Your will for us. Lord, there are times when we feel like we are battling humans (e.g., family, friends, co-workers, people in the world, etc), but according to your word we are fighting against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces  of wickedness in the heavenly places. Lord, help us to take a step back and look at the big picture to see what the enemy Satan is scheming and plotting to do. Lord, help us to see how he is trying to destroy the family, marriages, children, and people. How he is trying to keep people including ourselves in bondage, without hope, depressed, and broken. But Lord, You are greater. Lord, suit us up in you armor so that we may know the truth and stay free of the lies of Satan and the bondage he tries to hold us in.

Lord, encamp your angels around us as we put on all the pieces of the armor today, so that we will be able to resist the enemy on the evil day, and when we do everything, to stand firm. Keep us standing so that we can stand firm because we, have belted our waist with truth, and have put on the breastplate of righteousness, and have strapped our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, we are taking up the shield of faith each day to be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And we take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God with us today.

Lord, whatever we face today, we know we can because you are with us. We know you will not leave us or abandon us. We know that in our weaknesses you are strong. We know no weapon formed against us will prosper. We believe Your word and truth. Grant us your grace and peace today as we walk in your light today.

Lord, we want to please and serve you. Lord, don’t let us be two-face Christians were we are lukewarm in our hearts and minds. Lord, we want to be 100% walking in truth and in love following You in our decisions and relationships. Lord, help remind us that our goal is to please and serve you first in all the things we do. Lord, give us favor today as we seek and strive to live a life that brings you glory and draws others closer to you.

Lord, when the:

• grief is heavy
• are tears are to hard to cease
• weight seems like it is too heavy to bear
• pain seems unbearable
• lies and odds seem to be weighing against us
• medical reports aren’t positive
• things don’t work out the way we want
• prayer list is answered or goes unanswered

keep our minds focused on you.
