Good morning! Thank you for joining us for another day of our Draw Closer prayer series.

Prayer focus: His Thoughts Toward Us

“⁴ How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who become involved in falsehood. ⁵ Many, Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done,
And Your thoughts toward us; There is no one to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.” – Psalm 40:4-5 NASB

Dear God.
Your mercy endures forever. Your faithfulness is so great. Lord, how do we thank you for all the things that you have done for us? How do we express our gratitude for never leaving us? How do we even consider following anything or anyone other than you, when you have been so good to us?

Lord, thank you for accepting our love and our praise. Thank you for loving us when it was difficult for us to love ourselves. Thank you for the simplicity to know You, believe in You, and to accept You as our Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving us from eternal death. Lord, thank you for being worthy and for making us acceptable in the eyes of God.

Lord, we put our trust in You. We believe Your word, truth and promises. Lord, we prefer to follow You instead of false teachers and doctrine that fails to align with Your truth. Help us to always discern the difference.

Lord, You have shown yourself faithful in the storms and in the valleys. You’ve provided when it seemed like there were no provisions. You carried us when we couldn’t stand on our own. You lifted our heads when they were overwhelmed with grief or disgrace. You alone, stood beside us in the moments no one knows about – oh How Great You Are. Thank you for your loving thoughts toward us. No one compares to you. Lord, when we look over our lives we can see You there, and we trust that in the present and future that You are and will be there. Our hope is in You and Your promises that one day we will be with you forever – no more crying,  no more dying, no more sickness, but until then – Lord, we want to follow you with our whole heart. Lord, lead us in our actions, thoughts, and words.

Lord, thank you for the countless blessings you have bestowed upon us. Continue to heal us – mentally, emotionally, physically, financially, and most of all spiritually. Lord, work in us like never before – transform us.

Lord, deliver us all from the things that keep us bound and from functioning in the fullness of what you have created us to be.  Release the captives who are being trafficked or harm. Protect children from those who may harm them. Lord, help us to care for our families and draw them closer to you.

May our lives be a light that points others to you. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
