Good morning! Today, we will continue our Draw Closer series of daily prayers. 

Prayer focus: Grace

“14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.” – Hebrews 4:14-16

Dear God.

Thank you for your love toward us. Thank you for seeing us through the day before and for preparing us for the day ahead. Thank you for another opportunity to serve you and see you at work in our lives and in the world today. Lord, you have been so good to us and we want to say thank you for blessing and keeping us.

Lord, when we think of all the scriptures that speak on grace – the first one to come to mind is Your grace is sufficient.
“And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Lord, in our weaknesses you are made strong. Lord, in our well-being you are also strong. Lord, we desire for Your power to dwell in us, guide us, protect us, comfort us, shield us and be our refuge. Lord, may Your power be perfected in us in our weakness today, throughout the week, and for the duration of our lives.

Lord, when life is difficult to bear and our peace is difficult to contend with, we know we can call on you. We know weakness is not a flaw, but another area in our lives for You to be great in us and for us. Lord, encourage our hearts to lean-in closer to you. Lord, thank you for allowing us to continually approach the throne of grace.

Lord, comfort those who are grieving today.  Help them through their earthly loss and restore their sleep and heal their brokenhearts.

Lord, continue to help those seeking employment opportunities. Bless them with jobs that they can grow and flourish in. Bless them with leadership who favors them and does what is good in your eyes. Bless them to be able to have balance in work and with their families. Help us to all be lights in the workplace and lights to people around us.

Lord, continue to work in us. Keep our thoughts on you. In Jesus name, amen.
