Good morning! Today, we will begin our Draw Closer series of daily prayers. 

Dear Lord.

Thank you for this new day. Thank you for the new mercies and joy that are here and coming this morning. Lord, we do not deserve it, but you saw fit that we awoke this morning. Lord, we pray for those who did not sleep well or are in mourning today. Lord, we ask that you be their strength and comfort them.

Lord, as we begin this day, help us to surrender our worries and fears into your capable hands. Lord, go before us today and begin to make our paths straight. Give us wisdom, foresight and discernment to listen to the Holy Spirit lead us and help us to be obedient to the direction. Give those who are traveling – safety on their journey. Lord, we ask for favor for all those who are fighting principalities, rulers and forces of this dark world today. Lord, dress us in Your full armor – helmet of salvation, breast plate of righteousness, the sword of the Spirit,  the belt of truth, the shield of faith, and sandals of peace. Lord, help us to be a light in our homes, our work environment, our neighborhood, our church, and wherever our lives may find us. Lord, be our strength and our endless hope. Don’t allow us to hide our light, but make it shine bright so others can be led to you.

Lord, we ask that You begin or continue the good work of making us new. Lord, continue to tear down strong holds and barriers from our past that are preventing our growth in you and in other areas in our lives. Lord, help us to remove our pride, stubbornness, and desire to control every situation. Remove confusion and chaos that tries to entangle us and pull us away from you. Lead us with Your love and may we also be images of Your love toward others today.

Lord, we pray for the sick. Lord, we pray for those going through cancer treatment and ask for them to be healed.  Lord, we pray for those with medical concerns (diagnosised and undiagnosed) and we ask that you soften the hearts of treating physicians and nurse practioners to provide the accurate treatment necessary to cure and/or manage their patients illness(es).

Lord, may whatever we do in word or in deed give you all honor and glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
