Don’t Fall

Happy first day of summer!

“So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.” Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come. So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.” Hebrews 4:7-10 NLT

When I was a kid, I remember my grandmother saying “don’t run in the house”. One day, like many when I was a kid, I was disobedient and ran to the kitchen to eat grandma’s famous spaghetti.  As soon as my feet touched the kitchen in floor I fell and slid into the table. I had a huge lump on my forehead but that experience taught me to listen to my grandmother – at least about running in the house.

Today when you hear God’s voice, don’t harden your heart. The Lord desires to take you to a greater relationship with Him. He loves you and his plan is to prosper you. Listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit to guide you at work, in school, with your family and friends. No matter the situation God is willing to guide you through. Don’t fall, listen to his leading.

Dear Lord, thank you for guiding us through so many difficult circumstances in our lives. Thank you for giving us peace to rest our souls. Lord continue to work in us and lead us to a place of purpose and rest. Allow us to feel your presence and see your great works today. Shield us from the arrows of the enemy and from fear of the unknown.  Help us to trust you and experience your peace in every area of our lives. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
