Happy Friday! The scripture verses are a little long but it is worth every word. Enjoy!
“And furthermore, it is not angels who will control the future world we are talking about. For in one place the Scriptures say, “What are mere mortals that you should think about them, or a son of man that you should care for him? Yet for a little while you made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You gave them authority over all things.” Now when it says “all things,” it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all things put under their authority. What we do see is Jesus, who for a little while was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.” Hebrews 2:5-9 NLT.
As we conclude this week, let us not forget our lives have been sustained by God’s grace. All things are under his authority. God is in control. He is sovereign.
We may never understand the things of this world or why they happen. However, we need to remember God is God. His will and knowledge is greater than our own. While things in life are painful and at other times unbearable, we must trust God’s plan.
Trust the One who has authority over all things. Father God, we thank you for your sovereignty, for your grace and for your love for us. Lord please continue to strengthen our faith so that we may learn to trust you more. Equip us with your wisdom, guide us and help us to discern right from wrong – and elect to do right. Go before us today and give us favor in the task we need to accomplish and with the people we encounter today. Be with our families. Hold the broken, lost and hurting and give them peace and comfort that only you can provide. Help us all to relinquish our self-control and give control to you. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
Keep trusting! Keep seeking! Keep praying!
