Year After Year

Good morning! “The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared. But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year.” Hebrews 10:1-3 NLT.

Do you recall periods of time when you did something wrong and you couldn’t get it off your mind? Then for a few weeks, months or years later you recall the situation again and it stirs up an uneasy feeling.

The old system was similar.  Annually, you recall your sins, you sacrifice an animal according to the Law, but it was never enough to perfect the worshippers or forgive sin.

Through Christ Jesus, if we repent of our sins, we are able to be forgiven of our sins once and for all. The beauty about Christ Jesus is that even when we recall our sin, He remembers our sins no more.

Father God, we thank you for your once and for all sacrifice for our sins. Lord, we ask you to forgive us of our sins today. We ask that you help us to turn away from the things that are causing us to sin and to purify our hearts and return to you. Lord continue to draw us closer to you. Help us to see you at work in our lives daily. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Keep seeking. Keep trusting. Keep praying.

Eagerly Waiting

Good morning! “And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:27-28 NLT

Waiting can be a bit annoying, for instance, waiting in line, waiting for a video to load, waiting to get cellphone reception, waiting for an email that someone sent, waiting for a fax, waiting for water to heat up and waiting for me to send out these daily messages.

However, don’t be annoyed by the wait for Christ to return. Embrace the Lord’s direction and live life as though the Lord was coming today. As Hebrews 3:14-15 reminds us “You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. ”

Dear Lord, we thank you for the gift of time. The time to live our lives for you and to reach unbelievers so that they will not miss out on your promises. Lord continue to equip us for this journey to reach the least, last and lost. Help us to be faithful in what we believe until the day you come or call us home. Lord send your Holy Spirit to comfort the broken-hearted, to bring peace in the midst of storms and to minister to those who are seeking after you. May you dwell in our households, on our jobs, and give us favor in all that we do. Sharpen our gifts, give us wisdom, discernment and clarity about how to use those gifts, and make us bold while humble to use our gifts to glorify you. In Jesus name,  Amen.

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!

On Our Behalf

Good morning! “That is why the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than the blood of animals. For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf. And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal. If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice.” Hebrews 9:23-26 NLT

Do you have a sibling or a friend who comes to your rescue when you are in trouble or need help? Do you have that one person you can depend on no matter what? Who is that person?

Well friend, Jesus Christ is greater than that one person, sibling or friend. He gave his life to stand before God on our behalf so that we can be forgiven of our sins and reconciled to God. Don’t forget to show Him your gratitude. Take time today and thank God for his Son who died on the cross for our sins so that we can enter into heaven.

Father God, we thank you today for the people you have put in our lives to encourage us and support us in life. Lord, we also want to thank you for your promises and words of truth that strengthen, comfort and renew our souls. Lord there is no one greater than you. There is no one more sovereign than you. No one more gracious and merciful as you. We thank you Lord for all that you have done and continue to do. Please continue to strengthen our families, friends and believers in the faith. Keep us steadfast, completely trusting in you. In Jesus name, Amen.

Without Blood

Happy Monday! Today’s message covers the process of the first covenant. “Now when someone leaves a will, it is necessary to prove that the person who made it is dead. The will goes into effect only after the person’s death. While the person who made it is still alive, the will cannot be put into effect. That is why even the first covenant was put into effect with the blood of an animal. For after Moses had read each of God’s commandments to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, along with water, and sprinkled both the book of God’s law and all the people, using hyssop branches and scarlet wool. Then he said, “This blood confirms the covenant God has made with you.” And in the same way, he sprinkled blood on the Tabernacle and on everything used for worship. In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.” Hebrews 9:16-22 NLT

Lord, thank you for shedding your blood on the cross and dying for our sins. Your blood is the only sacrifice that ensures, if we confess with our mouths that you are Lord, and believe in heart that you died and rose from the grave, and accept Christ as our personal savior, our sins will be forgiven. Thank you for your willingness to die in our place. Lord, be with us today as some go to work, school, etc. Help us to recognize your presence in our lives, and give you the praise and glory you deserve. Encourage our hearts, strengthen our faith, and direct our steps. In Jesus name, Amen!

Free From Penalty

Good morning! “Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.” Hebrews 9:13-15 NLT

All who are called can receive the eternal inheritance.”

Lord, thank you for being our mediator. Thank you for the free gift of salvation. Lord, Savior, and Redeemer thank you for the eternal inheritance that gives us assurance that we will see you and our love ones again. Continue to be with us and transform us to who you called us to be. In Jesus name, Amen!

Secured Redemption

Good morning! “This is an illustration pointing to the present time. For the gifts and sacrifices that the priests offer are not able to cleanse the consciences of the people who bring them. For that old system deals only with food and drink and various cleansing ceremonies—physical regulations that were in effect only until a better system could be established. So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.” Hebrews 9:9-12 NLT.

Lord, thank you for secured redemption. It is in knowing the Lord’s love for us and the sacrifice that was made; that as believers He has secured our redemption in heaven.

Lord, you are gracious and merciful, faithful and true. Your ways are better than ours. Your plans are infinitely wise. Our hope remains in you, our comfort comes from you, and our true peace is only what you can provide. Lord help the lost, least and the last to understand the impact of your death on the cross and the opportunity of salvation. Help believers to love like you love and to minister to those who don’t know you as Lord Supreme, Almighty, Prince of Peace, Way Maker, Redeemer, Comforter, and the Alpha and Omega. In Jesus name, Amen!

No matter what you are going through, keep seeking the Lord’s face, keep trusting his plan is greater, keep praying and lay it all (whatever it is) in his perfect care.

Only Once A Year

Good morning! “When these things were all in place, the priests regularly entered the first room as they performed their religious duties. But only the high priest ever entered the Most Holy Place, and only once a year. And he always offered blood for his own sins and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. By these regulations the Holy Spirit revealed that the entrance to the Most Holy Place was not freely open as long as the Tabernacle and the system it represented were still in use.” Hebrews 9:6-8 NLT.

Thank God he removed that system. If my sins were only forgiven once a year, I know for a fact that I would be doomed for eternity. How about you?

I’m thankful that we can fall to our knees, stand, sit, lay down or walk and ask the Lord for daily forgiveness.

Lord, thank you for removing this old system. We thank you for your promises and blood that cleanses us from our sins. Lord we ask that you remind us of your grace and mercy. Strengthen and equip us to share your word and point others to you. Don’t let us miss an opportunity to do so. Keep us in your loving arms. Comfort those who are suffering. Bring peace to those who are broken-hearted and grieving. Give us discernment and wisdom for today. Be our rock and refuge. In Jesus name, Amen!

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!

Lord Make Me Strong

“And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-11NASB

Most Holy Place

Good morning! “Then there was a curtain, and behind the curtain was the second room called the Most Holy Place. In that room were a gold incense altar and a wooden chest called the Ark of the Covenant, which was covered with gold on all sides. Inside the Ark were a gold jar containing manna, Aaron’s staff that sprouted leaves, and the stone tablets of the covenant. Above the Ark were the cherubim of divine glory, whose wings stretched out over the Ark’s cover, the place of atonement. But we cannot explain these things in detail now.” Hebrews 9:3-5NLT

The author continues to reveal to us the first covenant regulations for worship and on entering into the Most Holy Place. For additional research on the design of the ark, you can read Exodus 25:10-22.

Lord, thank you for removing the curtain so that we can go directly to you. Thank you for welcoming us into a personal relationship with you. Lord continue to open our eyes to read your word, and to see and experience your provisions. Give us clarity on the remainder of this chapter as it relates to your superior covenant. Help us to always see you in every situation in our lives. Grant us wisdom and an obedient heart to follow you. Cover us today with your grace, love and mercy. Protect our children, comfort families, heal the sick, bring back the lost and restore them. Be our strength as we go through this day. Grant us courage and favor. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

No matter what you are going through, dig deep, keep seeking the Lord. Keep Trusting! Keep praying!

Holy Place

Happy Monday! Today begins our reading in Hebrews chapter 9. “That first covenant between God and Israel had regulations for worship and a place of worship here on earth. There were two rooms in that Tabernacle. In the first room were a lampstand, a table, and sacred loaves of bread on the table. This room was called the Holy Place.” Hebrews 9:1-2 NLT

Lord, thank you for the initial covenant and instructions for worship. While we know the Holy Place being described will begin to reveal our need and ability to worship and praise the Lord any where and at any time, I pray that He will reveal to us the significance of this chapter – about His covenant promise to Israel and our great need for a personal savior.

Father God, we thank you for your grace and mercy. We thank you for the opportunity to worship you in spirit and in truth. We thank you for your steadfast love that is unending and unchanging. That even in the midst of trials and joy we can worship who you are. Lord, continue to fill us with your praise. Lord, this week, help us to see how great and wonderful you are in our lives. Help us to worship you and you alone. In Jesus name, amen!

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
