From Your Heart

Good morning! We have been covering the topic of forgiveness. We read about the number of times forgiveness should occur and how the master (God) forgives us. Today’s reading concludes our review on forgiveness and of Matthew 18. Enjoy today’s reading.

BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 18:28-35 NLT
28 “But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment.

29 “His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded. 30 But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full.

31 “When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. 32 Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. 33 Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’ 34 Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt.

35 “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.””

REFLECTION
Brothers and sisters, with the same measure we are forgiven, this verse is reminds us to extend that amount to others as well. While we seek the Lord, to help us to forgive, we also must trust the Lord to be the judge in those situations, knowing He is the God of justice. Trust Him!

While unforgiveness can be a critical barrier. Pray hard for the Lord to help you heal from past hurts. I have know idea what you have been through or what pain you have had to endure in your lifetime, but I know God knows every detail and every anxious thought.  Today, he is reaching out His hand to you and saying, let me set you free to truly be able to forgive from the heart. Will you trust Him and give Him your hand and unforgiveness?

PRAYER
Father God, thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to be a living sacrifice for our sins. Lord God, you loved us so much that you sent your One and only son, so that we might be saved. Thank you for loving us even when we do not deserve it. Lord, forgive us of our sins against you and others. Lord, equip us with the tools that we will need to share the love of Christ with others around us. Lord, guard our hearts and empty it from unforgiveness. Lord, bind the spirits in our homes, on our jobs, in our hearts and minds that are not of you, so that our spirit may rest in your truth, your justice, your judgement and the peace that you alone can give. Lord, cover us and hold us up so that we may stand against the enemies schemes to keep us in darkness and emptiness. Lord, awaken us from our stagnant state and ignite a fire in our souls to pursue you and your purpose for our lives. Lord, you are our anchor and Redeemer, have your way in us. Change us Lord and change our hearts. Lord, we also pray for those who are in the hospital today. Lord, we ask for your healing touch. Lord, heal those suffering with heart conditions, cancer, lupus, kidney disease, gastric problems and mental illness. Lord, we also pray for those who have been victims of violence and other acts that have left scars. Lord, we ask for mental healing. Lord, make them whole and comfort their families. In Jesus name, amen!
