Are You The Two or More?

Good morning! Today we will continue with verses 18-20, which follows Jesus’ discussion to the disciples on discipline of believers in the body of Christ which began in verses 15-17.  Enjoy today’s reading.

BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 18:18-20 NLT
18 “I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.

19 “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. 20 For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.””

REFLECTION
Isn’t it a wonderful feeling to know that you can go to the Lord in prayer and He will answer. The beauty of these verses include:

  • A person in sin, being convicted by the Holy Spirit or corrected by his Christian brothers or sisters, has an opportunity to turn away from sin.
  • That as brothers and sisters of the faith, we can stand in the gap for our fellow believers and ask God to free them from their sin(s) and He will do it.

Today, brothers and sisters our family, friends, neighbors and cities need our prayers. What do you need prayer for? Will two or more of you pray with me for the war in Ukraine to end, for marriages to be healed and restored, for people who are suffering from cancer to be cured and rid of pain, for the children in this world, our hearts to be pure, and for our nation and world?

PRAYER
Father God, thank you for your love and compassion on us. Lord, we come in prayer today believing there are two or more praying with us on behalf of ourselves and others asking for healing, reconciliation, restoration, protection and peace. Lord, please hear and answers us as we pray and follow through on Your promises in verse 19. Father God, Lord we ask for you to come into our homes, schools and jobs today. Lord, make your presence known amongst us. Lord, help us to walk in your strength today. Lord, heal our brothers and sisters suffering from cancer. Lord, we ask that you will cure them and give their doctors wisdom and insight on how to treat and cure their medical conditions. Lord, we pray for those who are terminally ill and ask that they will seek you as their Lord and Savior. Lord, we don’t want anyone living or dying without accepting you as Lord of their lives, so Lord give us the opportunity and equip us to minister to the lost, so that they maybe found in you on the day that they leave this earth. Lord, be with those who are single and give them wisdom and discernment as they seek relationships or embrace being single. Lord, help them to understand their worth and value. Help them to see how you can use them and their singleness to explore their purpose and mission for the kingdom as they serve you. Lord, draw them near to you. Lord, we pray for marriages. Lord, we pray that you will cover their marriages and protect it from intruders who wish to destroy their marriage bond. Lord, where there is brokenness – heal and restore it. Lord, where there is a breakdown in communication – clear the air and tear down those walls, repair their tone and posture, heal their hearts and bridle their tongues. Give them clarity of mind and help them to quickly fall in love all over again. Lord, heal our world, protect our children and the innocent. Free the captives of sin and human trafficking. Lord, most of all change us to see things as you see them. Change us Lord, in Jesus name, amen.
