Happy Friday! It’s another day filled with new mercies. Rejoice in the day the Lord has given you. Enjoy today’s reading and your weekend.
BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 14:32-36 NLT
“32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed.
34 After they had crossed the lake, they landed at Gennesaret. 35 When the people recognized Jesus, the news of his arrival spread quickly throughout the whole area, and soon people were bringing all their sick to be healed. 36 They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.”
REFLECTION
Did they know Jesus?
• “You really are the Son of God!” v.33
• ” When the people recognized Jesus…” v.35
The mighty power of Jesus, the Son of God – the people knew and believed Jesus. They trusted him with their sick. They knew about His power to heal. They believed if they touched at least the fringe of his robe they would be healed, and they were.
Do you know Jesus?
• Do you believe?
• Do you recognize His power in your life?
• Are you using His strength and power to fight your battles, to heal the sick, to pray for the lost and to lead your life?
Today, brothers and sisters it’s time to turn our burdens, our sick, our lost loved ones and our lives over to the One who can do exceedingly more than we ask. So that we can proclaim Ephesians 3:20 NLT, “glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
Let me pray with you, but I also want to include Paul’s prayer to the Ephesians in Chapter 3.
Father God, thank you for sending your Son Jesus as a living sacrifice. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for our sins. Lord Jesus, thank you for rising from the dead and defeating death. Lord, thank you for loving us enough to save all those who believe. Lord, have continuous mercy and grace on us. Lord, we pray for the sick. Lord, you know what illness, addiction, attitudes and character flaws we have. Lord, we desire to be healed from all the things that do not please you. Lord, while we cannot physically touch Your garment, we can pour out prayers to you and believe you will heal all of us. Lord, live within us and change us to be more like you. Ephesians 3:16-19 NLT, “ I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” In Jesus name we pray all these things, amen!
