Good morning! All praise and glory belongs to the Lord. Praise Him today. He loves you. He has not abandoned you. Trust Him. Enjoy today’s reading.
Bible Verse – Matthew 14:24-27 NLT
“24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. 25 About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”
27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!””
REFLECTION
Sisters and brothers there will be times when the Lord will call us or instruct us to do something. Sometimes we may or may not understand, but we proceed in faith. However, just as the disciples experienced, sometimes when we are directly in the will of God strong winds and heavy waves surround us, trying to shift our direction – shaking our faith or causing us to doubt if God has really called us to do what we are doing. I want to encourage you right now to stay focused on His call and plan for your life. In times of fear and uncertainty, if we sit still amongst the chaos and hear from God – we will hear Him say, “Take courage. I am here!”
Questions to Ponder
• What are you struggling with today? ________
• What do you need to take courage in or with? _______
PRAYER
Father God, thank you for all that you do for us. Thank you for your grace and mercy in our lives. Lord, strengthen our faith and direct our steps. Lord, we want to serve you and do your will. Lord, speak to us and guide us as we go about the plans you have for us. Reveal to us the things you would have us do, show us how to accomplish those things, bring other Christian brothers and sisters along to help us in various ways to accomplish your plans, and when we feel discouraged or unsure remind us to take courage and remember you are here with us. Lord, you alone know what we struggle with. You alone know where we are fearful and need to take courage. Lord, we put our faith and trust in you. Lord, remove our doubts and fears, pour new life into us and give us a kingdom mindset that will chase after you. Father, be with us today. Lord, protect us from the evil one and build us up to be more like you – using scripture and your power to defeat the attacks of the enemy on our lives. Help us to recall your words and promises. Help us to stand strong in the faith. In Jesus name, we pray all these things. Amen!
