Acknowledge Him

Good morning! Last week, we read verses on how much Jesus cares for a little sparrow and how much more he loves and cares for us. Today we will continue our reading in Matthew chapter 10. Enjoy!

BIBLE VERSES – Matthew 10:32-33 NLT
32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.”

REFLECTION
As we read verses 10-33, we learned how Jesus comforted the twelve disciples before he sent them out. He reminded them of the power they had, who to minister to first, that they should not worry because God cares for them, and knows every detail down to the number of hairs on their heads. Now Jesus, instructs them – as they go out to acknowledge the Father before others and do not disown Him, or they will be disowned.

This time of the year, the world would have us deny Jesus is the reason for the season, and force us to water down Merry Christmas and replace it with happy holidays. There have been numerous moves and petitions to put Christ Jesus and God last, but today these verses remind us to keep Him first.

Brothers and sisters don’t forget Jesus’ love for us. His love for us took Him to the cross so that our sins would be forgiven and so that we can be reconciled to God.

Will you acknowledge him to others? _______________

Will you tell your children and/or others about Jesus? ___________

Lord, we trust you and desire to acknowledge you and your word to others.

PRAYER
Father God, thank you for loving us enough to send your son Jesus to save us. Lord, you are the only one who knows every detail about us. Lord, we honor you and recognize who you are and the things you have done for us. Lord, help us to be bold and acknowledge you before others. Lord, help us to remember all the things you have done for us. Lord, be with us as we go about our day. Lord, breathe your Holy Spirit into us so that we may be filled with you and live according to your word. Lord, be we those who a grieving this Christmas and comfort them. Lord, be with families as they gather and keep them safe. Lord, fill the hearts of those who are alone. Heal the sick and make them whole. In Jesus name, amen.
