He Said, “I Am Willing.”

Happy Monday! Don’t let the realities of this world stagger your prayer life. We serve a supernatural God, who can do exceedingly and abundantly beyond all that we can see or believe. Enjoy today’s reading.

BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 8:1-4 NLT
1 Large crowds followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside. Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”

Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared. 4 Then Jesus said to him, “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy (Leviticus 14:2-32). This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”

This was the first healing recorded in the book of Matthew, but there are many healings recorded in the book of John. As I researched a little more, the only person who had been healed of leprosy prior to this man was Miriam (Moses sister, Numbers 12:10-15). The healing of the man was significant because once again it demonstrated the power and authority in which Jesus came.

Jesus is still in the business of healing.

What do you need to be healed from (e.g., addiction, illness, anger, etc)? _________

Will you trust God to heal you, in the name of Jesus? ____________

Father God, the power of healing is in your hands. You show us repeatedly that you can do all things. Lord, help us to be as bold and as strong in our faith as the man with leprosy. Help us to understand Your will and know without a doubt if You are willing, You can heal and clean us. Lord, we pray your will be done. Lord, strengthen our faith and relationship with you so that when Your will is different from our desire, we will not lose faith in you or sight of your plan. Lord, we know you are still in the business of performing miracles. Lord, we know you can change anything. Father God, we lift up the sick and those suffering from conditions that are deemed incurable. Lord, we ask for healing from their disease, for them to recognize who you are and for them to live their life for you from this day forward. Lord, heal us all from the brokenness that is in our heart. Lord, heal the scars and make us whole in you. Lord, soften our hearts and remove bitter roots that run deep. Lord, equip us and transform us into the people you have called us to be. Lord, renew our faith and reignite our passion to follow you for the remainder of our days. In Jesus name, amen.
