Credibility

Happy Monday! Throughout the United States there will always be a term called credit. Credibility varies by numbers based on financial facts for ability to pay and trustworthiness of repayment. Credibility is also a term of being trusted or believable. 2 Corinthians chapter one continues with Paul giving his statement of credibility. Enjoy today’s reading.

12 We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God-given holiness[c] and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and especially toward you. 13 Our letters have been straightforward, and there is nothing written between the lines and nothing you can’t understand. I hope someday you will fully understand us, 14 even if you don’t understand us now. Then on the day when the Lord Jesus[d] returns, you will be proud of us in the same way we are proud of you.” – 2 Corinthians 1:12-14 NLT

Paul’s love for Christ and the church led Paul on many journeys. Paul established churches throughout the region and still came up against opposition and false Apostles. In Paul’s absence from Corinth, he heard the many things that were causing disruption in the church, but Paul didn’t give up or give in. Paul remained focused on God’s plan.

Sisters and brothers, sometimes God will call us to places we may not want to go. There are times when he calls us to places where we need to be. And there will be times when we will feel God direct us, but it will not always be an easy task. May I encourage you today to keep pressing through with God’s plan and purpose for you. There are people waiting on us to hear about the freedom that they have available in Christ Jesus. Let us look to Him and not the obstacles ahead. Let us depend on God’s grace, not our own human wisdom and follow through with whatever God is calling us to do. God’s credibility is all we need. His credit is trustworthy and He has already paid the price.

Father God, your grace is sufficient for us. Lord, you know our internal battles and the difficulties that we have with living for ourselves and choosing to live for you. Lord, we want to be credible witnesses for you. We desire to walk the talk in love and truth. Lord we desire to live with a clear conscience and be godly examples to those around us. Lord, help us to hear you when you call us. Help us to lay down anger that is in our hearts. Lord, breathe fresh life into us and transform us daily. Lord, fill our cup and let it overflow into every area of our lives. Lord, let the change in us lead us to healthier relationships with others and the church. Lord, make us spiritually bold and your humble servants who bring glory to your name. In Jesus name, amen.

Keep praying! Keep Trusting! Keep believing!
