Happy Wednesday! This week and last, we read the faithful reminders left by the author of 2 Peter. The reminders have been clear and concise calling our attention away from naysayers and challenging us to focus our attention on the Lord. Join me today as we continue in chapter 3 verses 11-14.

“¹¹ Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, ¹² looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. ¹³ But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.

¹⁴ And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.” – 2 Peter 3:11-14 NLT

Given the Lord will return like a thief (without notice), and the heavens and the earth will disappear (be destroyed), the question the author asks us is: What holy and godly lives should we live? _________

The answer is provided to us in verse 14, “be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.”

What can you do to live a peaceful life that is pure and blameless in his sight? ________

As believers, and while we await the Lord’s return, we must remain filled with hope and faith in the promises of the Lord. Share the gospel message and tell your testimony so that others may be encouraged in the faith.

Father God, thank you for today. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Lord, thank you for making a way for us to be with you for all eternity. Lord, help us when we struggle with our flesh as we strive to live a life that is pleasing to you. Lord, you know the distractions and barriers that try to hold us back from living our lives abundantly in you. Lord, help us to focus on the things that matter to you. Equip us with what we need to live a life that is pleasing to you and prepared for your return. May we remain humble, teachable and compassionate servants of you. In Jesus name, amen.

Keep praying! Keep trusting! Keep pursuing the Lord!
