Did You Get The Reminder?

Happy Friday! Because I am busy with many things, I often place several reminders on my calendar. Sometimes, I set reminders for my reminders. What do you need to remember? How do you remember things? Today in 2 Peter we will read Peter’s reminders. Join me as we begin reading in chapter 3. Have a wonderful day and weekend.

“This is my second letter to you, dear friends, and in both of them I have tried to stimulate your wholesome thinking and refresh your memory. I want you to remember what the holy prophets said long ago and what our Lord and Savior commanded through your apostles.

Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”” – 2 Peter 3:1-4 NLT

Both 1 Peter and 2 Peter are greater reminders of who we are in Christ, how our behavior and character should reflect Christ in us, the challenges of being a Christian and to persevere even when we are being persecuted or challenged for our faith. In these verses, the author of 2 Peter is preparing us for the days when Christians will be scoffed, and nonbelievers will mock the truth and live for their own desires.

While we don’t know the time or day the Lord will return, we as Christians can agree that the mocking is ongoing today, the cynical comments are around us like flies on cows, false teachers are leading people astray and the practice of Christianity has been forbidden in many places. The question we might ask, are we near the end? The answer, I’m not sure. But what I do know is that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. I also know that His death on the cross, His victory over sin and death has made away for us to be reconciled with God. That reconciliation includes forgiveness of sins, a restored relationship with God, and the promise of salvation.

Sisters and brothers, Jesus is coming back again. There is no doubt about that. The question is, will you be ready when he returns? ________

Don’t let the today pass without accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9-10 NLT reads: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”

If you believe this and you want to accept Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior or you want to rededicate your life, say this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, Lord forgive me of my sins, I believe you died on the cross for my sins and rose again so that I might be saved. Lord save me from eternal separation from God. I believe and accept You as my Savior and as Lord over my life. Thank you for providing a way for me. Thank you for making a way for me to have a personal relationship with You. Thank you for the free gift of eternal life. Lord, I choose to follow you all the days of my life. In Jesus name, amen.

If this is the first time that you said this prayer or if you have rededicated your life, let us know. Send an email to contactus@maryewhiteministries.com or send a letter to P.O. Box 8982, Moreno Valley, Ca 92552. Also, we want to encourage you to get involved in a Bible believing and teaching church.

Father God, thank you for your amazing grace. Thank you for sending your son Jesus to save us. Lord, you know the needs of your people, you know the challenges and the heartache we face on a daily basis. Lord, you know our needs. Father, we ask you today to fill our hearts with your peace. Lord, comfort and protect us as we travel on this journey in this foreign land. Lord, give us wisdom to navigate through the peaks and valleys of our lives. Lord, hold us close and pull us back when we are going astray. Lead us and guide us in the good times and on our worse days. Lord, we know troubles and heartache won’t last forever, but Lord they definitely hurt. Lord, as we lift our eyes to you, calm the aching in our heart, calm the anxious thoughts in our minds, remove the voices of doubt and confusion and remind us of who you are and whose we are. Lord, you are greater than anything we face. Keep us in the palm of your hand and transform us into who you have called us to be. In Jesus name, amen.

Remember who you are in Christ Jesus. Keep praying! Keep trusting! Keep pursuing the Lord!
