Free Trials

Happy Wednesday. Have you ever tested a product because it promoted it was a “free trial”? Maybe the free trial was 14 days or 30 days, just pay for shipping or call and cancel before the trial and they wouldn’t charge your card is the usual bottom line. It is a brief period when you test the product for quality and likability. This year alone I got caught up in the not so free trial period. Nearly costing me a total of $275, I had to make a call after the company wouldn’t respond to my three (3) emails. Fortunately, I received a full refund within a week. Today, we are continuing in 1 Peter and he’s sharing how we can endure trials. Join me.

“6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” – 1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT

According to these verses, trials:

  • will show your faith is genuine.
  • will prove your faith is more precious than gold.

Peter reminds us that as followers of Christ (Christians), we will suffer trials. Yet, he encourages us that it is only for a little while. He further states that when our faith is tested, which it will be, the trials will show your genuine faith. At times, you will be put to the test, held against the fire, but your faith, your genuine faith will not be burnt. It will remain strong and hold up to the test.

Sisters and brothers, I don’t know what trials you have been going through, but remain encouraged in faith. Lean on the Lord and seek Him during your trial, because you will make it through better than and more valuable than refined gold. Your experiences while trusting in the Lord will take you to another level and your strength or weakness during the trial, all while waiting on the Lord to pull you through will encourage you and others in their faith and through their trials.

Unlike my free trial, life trials are often a bit more difficult to escape. However, just like I emailed and called to correct the situation, and had to wait for the company to come through, we as Christians can call on the name of the Lord in our trials, in our despair and know that if we wait on the Lord and we keep walking in faith He will come through, and what greater joy is there than knowing that He will come through.

Father God, thank you for today. Lord, thank you for your amazing grace and mercy in our lives. Lord, sometimes it feels as though these trials break us down for no good reason. Lord, help us to remain in faith. Help us to remain focused on you and our inheritance in heaven. Father, teach us to stand strong in your word and to rely on your truth. Lord, touch all the readers today and equip them with the armor that they need to stand up during the trial. Protect them from the darts and daggers of the enemy. Provide for them spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. Lord, you know our needs, help us to leave our worries in your hands as we walk in faith knowing that you will come through. I’m Jesus name, amen.

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
