Good morning! Have you ever watched a sports team play a game? The game was probably intense. It was one good play after another, you couldn’t tell who was going to win. The players were exhausted and only took short breaks to renew their energy/strength. Yet, the team that was counted out by the world was astonished to see the big play that changed the game. Everyone began running on the field – crying, hugging and giving thanks.
That is how I can imagine some of our strongest break-throughs in life. The battle against the darkness and principalities of this earth is intense, we get tired in the midst of the spiritual battle, the Lord encourages us with his word, readjusting our armor to fit and just when we think the enemy may have a grip, the Lord steps in – our Rock and changes everything. Then everyone starts running, giving thanks and telling their testimony.
“8 But you, O Lord, will be exalted forever.
9 Your enemies, Lord, will surely perish; all evildoers will be scattered.
10 But you have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have anointed me with the finest oil.
11 My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies; my ears have heard the defeat of my wicked opponents.
12 But the godly will flourish like palm trees
and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.
13 For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God.
14 Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.
15 They will declare, “The Lord is just! He is my rock! There is no evil in him!” Psalm 92:8-15 NLT
The Lord made us strong.
Brothers and sisters, don’t give up. Our God has you in the palm of his hand. He will be exalted in all the earth. He has and will continue to make you strong. Remain in him and you will flourish and produce green fruit. “The Lord is just! He is my (our) rock! There is no evil in him!”
Father God, today we thank for all that you have done for us and continue to do. Lord, you give power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Lord, you hold us with your mighty hand. Your unfailing love is displayed daily. Lord, forgive us when we fail to see your greatness all around us or ignore your presence. Lord, teach us to lean in and discover more about your word. Help us to understand each verse and how we are to apply it to our lives so that we may reflect your love in this world. Lord, continue to change us. In Jesus name, amen.
