Happy Thursday! Today and tomorrow we will go over Paul’s concluding words to the Galatian church.
“Notice what large letters i use as i write these closing words in my own handwriting. Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save. And even those who advocate circumcision don’t keep the whole law themselves. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast about it and claim you as their disciples. As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.” Galatians 6:11-14 NLT.
Paul, yet again is reminding the church that circumcision – acts to appear more holy, will not get them into the kingdom. He continues to explain that he only boast about the cross of Jesus Christ alone saves.
Do you believe it is through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and resurrection from the grave that we may be saved?
The Bible says, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NLT
Lord, thank you for today. Thank you for the reminder that it is Jesus Christ alone who saves. Lord, thank you for saving us. While we know tomorrow is not guaranteed, Lord, thank you for making provision for those who will be saved. Lord, guide our hearts and direct us in ways that you can use us for your glory. Lord, continue to reveal yourself to us. Let our heart break for what breaks yours. Help us to be bold for you and share the message of salvation to this dark and broken world. In Jesus name, amen!
Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
