Happy Monday! In these verses, Paul is reminding the Galatians of their prior joy and gratefulness.
“Surely you remember that I was sick when I first brought you the Good News. But even though my condition tempted you to reject me, you did not despise me or turn me away. No, you took me in and cared for me as though I were an angel from God or even Christ Jesus himself. Where is that joyful and grateful spirit you felt then? I am sure you would have taken out your own eyes and given them to me if it had been possible. Have I now become your enemy because I am telling you the truth? Those false teachers are so eager to win your favor, but their intentions are not good. They are trying to shut you off from me so that you will pay attention only to them. If someone is eager to do good things for you, that’s all right; but let them do it all the time, not just when I’m with you.” Galatians 4:13-18 NLT
Do you remember how you felt when you said yes to following Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? _______
Don’t let your love for Christ burn-out. May the joy and gratefulness of when you first accepted the Lord, be reignited.
Father God, we don’t always know the motives in people’s hearts, however we know you. Lord we ask that you give us sound discernment when we listen to others. Lord, may your truth and wisdom penetrate our hearts and overflow in our minds so that we are not easily persuaded by those who want to tear down our faith. Lord, expose false motives and lies that attempt to divide the kingdom. Help us to be bold in your strengthen and be able to share our joyful and gratefulness of knowing you. Lord, continue to be our rock and fortress, our shield and protection, and our peace. Lord heal those who are ill, comfort those who mourn, protect the innocent and bless those who are still suffering from all the natural disasters. Lord, protect us from individuals who only want to divide and confuse – expose the dividers and let those who have eyes see and those with ears hear the truth- and seek your guidance to change things. Lord, reignite our flame and passion for you. In Jesus name, amen!
Keep seeking God’s truth! Keep trusting God’s word! Keep praying!
