Become Mature

Happy Friday! “So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.” Hebrews 6:1-3NLT.

So fitting to read these verses on my _4 birthday. These verses are a reminder that our age doesn’t determine our maturity in the faith, it is our relationship with God that develops our faith and then we begin to mature. The more time we spend in the word, meditating on it and applying it, the further we will grow as Christians.

Sometimes even the mature need to revisit the basic scriptures as a reminder of God’s love toward us.  However, we must not stay stagnant in our growth.

What will you do today or during the month of July to help mature your faith? Will you read the bible at least three times a week? Will you increase your church attendance? Maybe you will attend a new summer bible study? Whatever it is, know that we are praying for you and your growth in the word.

Lord, thank you for another birthday and another opportunity to read your word. Lord, we desire to become mature in our faith and in your word. Lord, make us hungry for your word. Help us to understand your word and allow your Holy Spirit to help us to discern the word, so that we will not become stagnant or stifled in our growth. Plant us at the right church, one that will challenge us to grow and equip us to share your word unapologetically. Keep us grounded as we trust you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Keep seeking God’s truth! Keep trusting God’s word and plan! Keep praying!

Have a wonderful weekend.
