Happy Friday! “But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.” 2 Peter 3:11-13 NLT
For some, these verses are dreadful and frightening. However, for those who believe, these verses are promises of eternal life with God. No more crying, dying, struggling or pain. I look forward to that day, but until then there is work to be done.
Let us continue to reach out to those who don’t know the Lord. Share the love God has shown us with others.
Dear Lord, thank you for today. Thank you for your promises and love. Lord we ask that you strength us during difficult times. That you pour out your peace in our hearts. As the nation celebrates Mother’s day, Lord comfort those who miss their mom, those who never knew their mom and the ones who struggle with the absence of a motherly figure in their lives. Encourage their hearts and spirits. Help them to process good and bad memories with the assurance that you are God and you understand their pain. Lord, continue to be with us and build up our faith. In Jesus name, Amen!
Keep praying! Keep trusting! Keep believing!
