Our Motives

Good Morning! “He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at supernatural being without so much as trembling. But the angels, who are far greater in power and strength, do not dare to bring from the Lord a charge of blasphemy against those supernatural beings.” 2 Peter 2:10-11 NLT

The false teachers in that day ignored the apostles instructions to be clean and pure before the Lord. In their desire to keep sinning, the false teachers twisted the truth. In their boldness, they mocked the truth and did things that angels would not do.

There are times when we need to look at our motives. Ensure our hearts and actions are sincerely aligned with the Lord and what he desires. We need to read and apply the word of God even on our worst day, because it is meant to speak life into our hearts and minds.

What book in the Bible are you reading today? I’m studying Galatians, more specifically Galatians 3:28 – we are all one in Christ.

Father God, in spite of our current situation, help us today to live for you. Help us to hear and read your truth. Help us to understand what your word means and apply to our lives. Help us not to be arrogant in our belief – knowing the truth, but making a decision to continue in sin. Give us wisdom to turn away from the things that do not please you. Keep us, comfort us, and give us boldness to be Christ like in all we do and say. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Keep seeking! Keep praying! Keep trusting!
