Light It Up Lord

Good Morning! “We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain. Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:18-19 NLT

The word of God is a light on our path/journey.

In dark places, people used lamps to find things, to see one another and to brighten a space. Today people use their cellphones to brighten dark space or to light the way.

As you look at the brightness of the light on your cellphone or a room after you have turned on a light switch – remember God’s word shines bright in light and dark places in our lives. We don’t need to flip a switch or download a flashlight app on our cellphone to see what God is doing or where he is taking us. The word of God lights our path, reveals the unseen, and stabilizes our footing.

Will you let his word shine brightly in you today? Will you open your Bible and read a passage? The Lord wants to spend time with you.

Lord, we don’t know what awaits us today, but Lord we ask that you go before us and light the way. Penetrate our hearts with your word and Holy Spirit. Pour into us your wisdom and give us discernment as we press through today. Help us to see our brothers and sisters in need, help us to see things as you do and give us the tools and love that we need to strengthen their faith and encourage them. Lord we ask that you continue to work in our lives. Transform us daily. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
