He Called Them

Good Morning! “So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:10-11 NLT

In these verses, Peter is steadily encouraging brothers and sisters in the faith and supplying them with tangible tools to help them grow spiritually. His reminder to – “Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, patient endurance, godliness and love,” still applies to us today.

While the journey may be difficult, remember the Lord has called you his own. You were designed with a God given purpose in mind. And, if you are living and breathing today, God still has an amazing plan for you on earth. Continue to pray for clarity of purpose, be attuned to the Lord’s voice, be obedient to the call and don’t let fear of the unknown stifle you.

Which promise are you holding onto today?

  • Psalm 23:4NLT “Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”
  • Romans 8:29-30NLT “For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.”

Father God, thank you for your goodness toward us, thank you for your patient love for us, thank you for your endless grace and your mercy. Lord continue to help us to grow and mature in your word and our daily lives. Lord help us to honor you as you reveal your will for our lives. Help us to be bold, fearless and undaunted as we press forward – pursuing your will. Keep speaking to us Lord. Keep moving our hearts. Continue to change us. Lord be with us, and cover our families. Give peace to those who are hurting, struggling or worried. Lord I also ask that you prepare the hearts of the people who will be at the event on Saturday and may that time and space be filled with your holy presence. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Keep seeking the Lord! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
